The architectural practice Sheppard Robson would like more hotels commissions having successfully designed the outside of citizenM, Tower of London.

Locating the hotel near the historic palace as well as over a tube station had its difficulties but the stylishly plain exterior blends in with the assortment of buildings around it.

Head of hotels at the practice, Dan Burr, came to our Future Cities Forum 2 at citizenM, Tower of London, to describe the process of choosing the site, designing the hotel's exterior and using modern methods of construction to create the building.
