Mount Anvil maintains the importance of art in public realm

Mount Anvil was particularly clear about the importance of art in public realm during discussions at our Future Cities Forum at IET in London.

Design and Planning Director, Andy Reid says 'public art is fundamental to place making and the integration of a development into London's cultural fabric.'

One of the intriguing public sculptures that Mount Anvil has supported is Gavin Turk's 'Ajar' (above) installed in The Loxfords development and referencing Magritte's painting 'La Victoire' - a surreal gateway 'unlocking ideas of the infinite'.

Mount Anvil's Queen's Wharf with its river side walkway has been named as the Best Home for Art Lovers by The Sunday Times in their feature on new-build developments that deliver on all levels.

Leaving a positive legacy is a key belief of the developer and we will be continuing the discussion of the importance of art in public realm at our June event in Burlington House, London.
