The emerging face of Bankside

We are holding our Bankside round table tomorrow at citizenM, designed by Axis Architects using modular construction offering 'affordable luxury'. General Manager, Matthew Bell in charge of Bankside, Shoreditch and Tower Hill will be speaking about at our event on why the hotel chain chose this location and what the area represents for the group.

Matthew describes his hotel guests as 'multicultural, free spirited, tech savvy, informed, social, international, contemporary, urban and value conscious' and comments further saying 'having opened in 2012, we are proud to have been an early part of the area's new wave of growth'.

The re-construction of Shakespeare's Globe pushed forward by American actor Sam Wanamaker, to represent how the original Elizabethan theatre would have looked, was an original boost to the area of Bankside. Today it acts as a highly recognisable landmark that draws visitors and tourists from far afield.

An important element of the theatre's work is its education and learning programme supported by corporate firms. Charlotte Bourne, Deputy Head of Education, will be at our round table to describe the impact of the theatre continues to have in the regeneration of this important London quarter,, the wider borough and why the education programme is so important

Matthew and Charlotte join speakers from Union Street Partners, Boodle Hatfield LLP, SPPARC Architects and Better Bankside.
