Deloitte on future mobility at "Intelligent Cities"
We are very pleased that Deloitte’s Global Transportation Sector Leader, Simon Dixon will join our “Intelligent Cities” forum on 3 July at White City Place.
Simon is a Partner in Deloitte’s Public Sector Practice, specialising in the delivery and commercial management of large complex business-critical transformational programmes with a track record of putting government policy into practice. He is currently leading Deloitte’s initiatives into the Future of Mobility and Smart Cities.
In the UK he is the Lead Client Service Partner (LCSP) supporting Transport for London (TfL) with an in-depth knowledge of the complex political, operational and technical issues facing TfL. He is also the LCSP for Network Rail and the Department for Transport (DfT) and its Agencies.
Simon was the Programme Manager on the London Congestion Charging Western Extension Zone project and responsible for the successful delivery of the scheme. He was also the Joint Project Partner for the New York City Department for Transport’s Congestion Pricing Programme.
His transport projects have included TfL’s Fit for the Future-Stations Programme which is coming up with a new operating model for London Underground stations, and the establishment of a Commercial Development Directorate within TfL which is tasked with generating an additional £3.5bn of non-fare revenue over the 10 year business plan period. Also TfL’s Strategic Workforce Planning Project
and TfL Board Efficiency Review as well as supporting TfL’s project Horizon which was a major initiative to re-design the organisation and restructure TfL’s 12 central corporate functions with the aim of doing things ‘better, simpler & cheaper’ to support a world-class transport operation.
Simon was also closely involved in developing the UK Highways Agency’s new vision and operating model as they moved to being a Government Owned Private Company (now called Highways England)
He is currently the Deloitte representative on Chief of Defence People’s Strategic Advisory Group, is a member of the Future Reserves Research Programme Advisory Board and is one of the recently formed five-person Independent Advisory Panel for the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst reporting directly to the Commandant.
