Make Architects restore Harrods and improves staff morale

When Katy Ghahremani, Director, Make Architects came back to talk to us again at our third Future Cities Forum, she described how she has restored the beauty of some of Harrods architectural features.
She stated how she felt the brand over the years had become tarnished and so mindful of its heritage status, Katy started sensitively stripping the interiors back in the escalator halls as well as the super brands floor and has now restored the world famous department store to its original glory and added a modern accent.
Even more gratifying for her has been the reaction of the staff who report a certain pride in walking into the store every day - a reminder that architecture really does affect peoples' psychological well-being as well as their physical space.
Make Architects has now restored the Harrods brand, giving different areas of the store a real sense of place.
