YTL joins our October 'Innovation Cities' forum

Future Cities Forum is delighted that Seb Loyn, Director of Planning and Development at YTL Developments, will be joining our 'Innovation Cities' forum in October at the University of Bristol's innovation hub next to Temple Meads Station.
Having trained in both Architecture and Planning, Seb has spent a career at some of the property industry’s most innovative developers, starting out at Urban Splash, Skanska and Studio Hive before joining YTL Developments in 2017.
He now leads the team responsible for one of the most exciting regeneration projects in the country at Brabazon in Bristol. He is also a Trustee of Design West, which champions quality design and placemaking across the South West.
YTL Developments has entered into a partnership with Sovereign Network Group (SNG), for high-quality affordable homes at Brabazon, the thriving new town for Bristol and the West of England.
YTL Developments is rapidly transforming one of the largest brownfield sites in the UK into a vibrant neighbourhood north of Bristol with 6,500 homes, of which more than 1,700 will be classed as affordable.
It will also be home to the new Bristol Brabazon train station and have enough commercial space for up to 30,000 new jobs, making it one of the most exciting and sustainable places in the West of England.
The partnership between YTL Developments and SNG will support the delivery of affordable housing, providing genuinely affordable homes needed to meet the housing demands of a growing urban area.
Brabazon has been shortlisted as one of the government’s New Towns – a designation which will speed delivery of thousands of new homes and jobs, alongside the vital public transport and infrastructure needed to support sustainable growth. This includes the opening of Bristol Brabazon railway station this autumn, the new m4 Metrobus service which is now operational, and over 86 acres of new public parks, squares and green spaces.
By working together over the long term, SNG and YTL Developments aim to create a coordinated and sustainable delivery model which provides certainty for residents and investment partners.
SNG and YTL Developments are also in advanced negotiation to establish a long-term SNG office base within one of the flagship commercial buildings at Brabazon. The masterplan for Brabazon includes over 3 million sq ft of prime office and employment space.
SNG already has a strong presence in the area, with approximately 1,700 homes across Bristol and South Gloucestershire. It has also delivered c. 30% of the affordable homes already built at Brabazon.
Over the next 10 years, SNG plans to build 22,500 new homes across the South of England, all designed to meet its sector leading Homes and Place Standard.
