Knowledge Quarter Liverpool

Colin Sinclair, Chief Executive of Knowledge Quarter Liverpool, will be speaking at our Future Cities Forum on 13th June about the impact that this development is having on regenerating the city.

Knowledge Quarter (KQ Liverpool), was brought together last May by five funding partners – Liverpool City Council, the University of Liverpool, Liverpool John Moores University, The Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine and the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University NHS Trust - to create, develop and promote one of Europe’s leading Innovation Districts. The Knowledge Quarter is one of the city region’s first and largest Mayoral Development Zones.

Colin started his career in the music business, managing bands and owning clubs and bars in Manchester before moving onto to produce a number of major televised events.

In 2004 he was appointed Director of Marketing for MIDAS and Manchester Enterprises and in 2005 he became Chief Executive of Manchester's Investment and Development Agency (MIDAS), attracting substantial inward investment to the city, before joining property developers Bruntwood in 2010.

Working on the diversification of their core office property business into science, biomedical and tech spaces, Colin’s projects as a Director at Bruntwood included being part of the team on the acquisition of Manchester Science Park, the redevelopment of Manchester Business School and the Citylabs development. Latterly he also led Bruntwood’s team in Liverpool and another team at Bruntwood which developed their co-working concept.

On taking up his full time role in KQ Liverpool in May of this year Colin retained his links with the family-owned property company Bruntwood as their Chairman for Liverpool.
