Ahead of our arts and sciences city regeneration Future Cities Forum on 13th June at Burlington House, London, we thought we would feature HLM Architect's new design for Plymouth's tech hub.
HLM spoke at our inaugural forum at RIBA on 'design futures' and this building, 'One Research Way' on Plymouth's Science Park is zinc-coloured aluminium clad with glass 'pop outs' with seats to sit in and discuss innovation issues. It has won the Royal Institute of Surveyor's regional award for best commercial building in the South West.
Marking the fifth phase of development at the Plymouth Science Park, Derriford, which was constructed in 1995, it is now 70% occupied since opening in February this year. It is now the home of some of the region's fastest growing tech and science businesses.
It is thought that this stunning building will continue to put Plymouth Science Park on the map for businesses and investors.
We are discussing the impact of the development of science and technology hubs in city regeneration in June.
