L&G Capital's regional cities regeneration

We are delighted that Rachel Dickie, Head of Urban Regeneration at Legal & General Capital (LGC), the early-stage investment arm of Legal & General Group, will be speaking at our next conference, 'The Making of the Modern City' at City Hall, London on 8th May 2018.

Legal & General is involved in major regeneration projects across the UK, backing a portfolio of strategically important schemes, that are fast transforming and reshaping Britain's landscape, bringing jobs and housing back into the centre of cities. L&G is able to invest money over a very long time horizon to match liabilities which the Group will hold for 30, 40 or 50 years.

LGC is also committed to creating long term social and economic value by investing in the future of the UK's energy systems, with a focus on low cost generation technologies such as wind and solar. It has backed cutting-edge science companies - such as the Oxford University spin-out Oxford Photovoltaic - which have the potential to scale up and transform the global energy system.

As well as the origination of new opportunities, Rachel is responsible for the investment management of existing projects including MediaCityUK in Salford, Cardiff's Central Square, Newcastle Helix, Bracknell Town Centre and Thorpe Park Leeds.

Rachel joins Transport for London, VeloCity and Middlesbrough Council on our first infrastructure, housing and regeneration panel.
