Future vision for Bath Rugby and riverside

We are delighted that the Chief Executive of Bath Rugby, Tarquin McDonald, will join our forum discussion panel on stadium and sports-led regeneration of cities, at White City Place on 10th October.

He will contribute alongside Grimshaw Architects,WYG and QPR Property.

Bath which plays in the English Premier League is one of the oldest rugby union clubs in the country, dating back to 1865. It has a central city location, next to the River Avon, within the City of Bath UNESCO heritage site boundary.

The proposed plans for the new Bath Rugby stadium are currently out for public consultation. Grimshaw says it is vital to design a stadium in a city-wide context, so that the local community will benefit from the restoration of the riverside and the additional facilities that the project will bring.

Tarquin spent seven years at KPMG in finance and corporate, working on a wide range of deals. He subsequently spent five years in a Private Equity backed business before joining Bath Rugby in 2012, initially as Finance and Strategy Director before taking on the Chief Executive role in 2014. Tarquin believes passionately in the power of sport to inspire and change lives.
