Mace Group at 'The Making of the Modern City II'
We are delighted that the Chief Operating Officer of Mace Group, David Grover, will be joining our discussions on infrastructure-led regeneration at London City Hall on 26 June.
David will be contributing at this event, 'The making of the modern city II', along with Stephen Dance, Delivery Director of the Infrastructure Projects Authority, Katie Black, Head of Policy at the National Infrastructure Commission and Sheffield City Council's Chief Executive, John Mothersole as well as leaders from energy and transport, housing groups, major museums and senior urban planners.
Recently Mace announced the topping out of 18 Hanover Square, part of the Hanover Square Estate, a 1.3 acre mixed-use development in London that will host the new eastern entrance to the Elizabeth Line's Bond Street station. The project, once complete next year, will provide 220,000 sq ft of high quality office, retail and residential accommodation centred around a new public courtyard. Further afield Mace is also working on the redevelopment of Stevenage town centre.
David has over 35 years’ experience in client project and development management, property and investment and is the COO responsible for Mace’s development activities. He works to bring development opportunities to life through creative investment, helping to shape Mace’s core consulting and construction services.
He joined Mace in 1992 and after two decades working across the business both in the UK and internationally, led the formation of an investment-backed approach for Mace in 2010. David was appointed to the Group Board the same year and has since grown the development business to a £1 billion gross development value portfolio.
This portfolio includes 5000 residential units in development or planning spread around the UK and in PRS, private for sale and social housing tenure types. In addition the portfolio includes in excess of 2000 student beds, hotels, mixed use, retail and commercial office space.
His wider career to date covers major infrastructure, transport, urban regeneration, residential, retail and hotel work. He also has extensive experience in speculative new build office, B1/B2 development and residential projects and has been a past judge with the British Council for Offices.
David brings an added advantage to his broad property knowledge, having started his professional life as a quantity surveyor before completing a post-graduate construction law degree in the late 1990s, as well as being a qualified arbitrator.
