Alison Brooks Architects leads the way in housing design

Recently named by the Sunday Times as one of Britain's 500 most influential people, Alison Brooks is the only UK architect to have won all three of the UK's most prestigious awards for architecture: the Stephen Lawrence Prize, the Manser Medal and the 2008 RIBA Stirling Prize.

Her ground breaking live-work residential development in Harlow, Essex - Newhall Be - was shortlisted for the RIBA Stirling Prize and Supreme Winner of the Housing Awards. The housing designs at Newhall Be reference the black barns of the Essex countryside and cleverly incorporate outdoor spaces at different levels.

Her Practices's regeneration projects include the Quarterhouse Performing Arts Centre at Folkstone in Kent. Alison has also recently designed an Oxford College's full academic and residential quadrangle (Exeter College). She is an external examine at The Bartlett School of Architecture and the Architectural Association.

She will be discussing design solutions to the UK housing crisis at our next forum on 6th March 2017 at the IET, London.
