Chief Executive of Oxford University Hospitals at our 'science cities' forum
We are delighted that the Chief Executive of Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (OUH) Dr Bruno Holthof, will be speaking at our Cambridge forum on 20th November.
This 'science cities' forum will discuss the best approaches to creating knowledge hubs and R&D clusters within cities that are both economically and socially successful - and very importantly are well designed, especially in urban settings. We will be looking at tackling health issues in cities and will showcase innovation in medical care.
Dr Holthof oversees a staff of 12,000 staff across four hospital sites and 44 other locations. Before OUH, he was CEO of the Antwerp Hospital Network from January 2004 until September 2015. During this period he transformed ZNA into the most profitable hospital group in Belgium.
Before becoming a CEO, he was a partner at McKinsey & Company where he served a wide ranges of healthcare clients in Europe and the United States and gained significant expertise in the areas of strategy, organisation and operations.
He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and an MD/PhD from the University of Leuven.
Oxford City Council has spoken at our previous forums highlighting the shortage of affordable housing for university and hospital staff in the city and the issues around developing homes on particular sites with good access to rail stations, cycle routes and bus services.
