Chapman Taylor Group Board Director joins our 'New Districts' forum this April

We are delighted that Chapman Taylor Group Board Director, UK, Adrian Griffiths, will be speaking at our April event in Future Cities Forum's 'New Districts' series, about developments at City Centre South, Coventry.
In March, it was announced that building work would start in the next twelve months on City Centre South, Coventry. Shearer Property Group Managing Director, Guy Shearer, is reported to have told Levelling Up Minister Neil O'Brien, that he wants the development to recreate a sense of the city centre before the Second World War, when more people lived in the centre, rather than outside of it.
The project is the renewal of a major part of a historic midlands city centre, upgrading several areas including Bull Yard, Shelton Square, City Arcade and Hertford Street, making the city a significant residential, shopping and leisure destination in the West Midlands. The scheme will connect the Coventry's much-loved circular market with the rest of the centre and aims to open for business by 2026.
New residential apartments at upper levels, new public spaces, new retail units, F&B and leisure and community uses to activate the street level, are among the provisions. A curated pavilion building will stand in the heart of a new plaza, which will be fronted by the city's listed indoor market. A new hotel, medical centre and cinema will complete the rounded offer.

Adrian joined Chapman Taylor in 1986 and was promoted to the Group Board in 1998. As an architect and urban design specialist, he is recognised internationally for his expertise in the master-planning of major complex mixed-use developments which are key drivers in the regeneration of our town and city centres. Adrian leads the Concept Design Team in the UK.
